Fabrics Fashion Architecture

“Fabrics Fashion Architecture” is dedicated to the exhibition Galtrucco at Palazzo Morando, museum of the City of Milan in the heart of the fashion quadrilateral, an ideal context to testify to the importance that Galtrucco has had in the world of textiles, in the history of the city and some of its most representative places.

“Tessuti di moda” zooms in on the stylistic evolution of textiles and fashion in the twentieth century. Through the Galtrucco archives, the canons of Milanese elegance are rediscovered, starting with the decades reigned by made-to-measure (1930s to 1960s) and reaching the advent of ready-to-wear and great designers.

Fashion
sketches

The corpus of 299 sketches preserved in the Galtrucco Archives, 160 of which featuring figures from the 1950s – used to suggest to customers possible models to create with the fabrics on sale – is a rich testimony to a golden age of Milanese fashion, and an inspiration to future generations of young designers.
