The Galtrucco name is ingrained in the history of Milan and its fashion trends. The Galtrucco window displays, fabrics, interior design and furnishings made its stores a point of reference for Milanese elegance and innovation. The spirit of this remarkable story of entrepreneurship and the will to rise above adversity continue today in its real estate business

FROM DECEMBER 13, 2024 TO JUNE 15, 2025.
Palazzo Morando | Costume Moda Immagine hosts the exhibition “Galtrucco. Fashion Fabrics Architecture” organized by Galtrucco in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan.
The exhibition aims to revive the years of Galtrucco’s commercial activity within the museum’s halls. It is divided into two sections: the first, curated by Alessandra Coppa, focuses on Galtrucco’s communication through its stores, window displays, and advertising; the second, curated by Margherita Rosina and Enrica Morini, centers on the fabrics sold in its spaces.

“Tessuti di moda” zooms in on the stylistic evolution of textiles and fashion in the twentieth century. Through the Galtrucco archives, the canons of Milanese elegance are rediscovered, starting with the decades reigned by made-to-measure (1930s to 1960s) and reaching the advent of ready-to-wear and great designers.
The corpus of 299 sketches preserved in the Galtrucco Archives, 160 of which
featuring figures from the 1950s – used to suggest to customers possible
models to create with the fabrics on sale – is a rich testimony to a golden
age of Milanese fashion, and an inspiration to future generations of young
designers.
An illustrated book that highlights Galtrucco’s contribution to trends in taste and fashion, elegance and city prestige.

In 2001 the company ceased its commercial activities and retained its real estate business, including the original headquarters with the Salone dei Tessuti, and almost all the stores that once bore the Galtrucco brand
